Amar Dhoj Lama is well-known in Nepal’s radio broadcasting sector. After almost 25 years of service, he received his early retirement from the government-owned radio station Radio NepalRNE.

During this tenure, he was nominated to the Board of Directors and acquired experience in formulating policies for Radio Nepal’s professional advancement.

Aside from this, Lama worked as a radio program producer for UNMIN, the UN Mission in Nepal, United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)

As vice president of the Federation of Nepalese Indigenous Nationalities Journalists-FoNIJ, he has been advocating reforms to policies in the Nepali media respecting minorities, nationalities, women, and inclusiveness.

Furthermore, Mr. Lama is also an executive committee member of the Madan Bhandari FoundationMBF. As a  member faculty of Liberal Arts of the Madan Bhandari Memorial CollegeMBMC he has also been teaching subjects in journalism and mass communication.

Amar graduated from Radio Netherlands Training Center (RNTC)‘s International Educational Course (Radio/Tv/Internet) in 2003.

He has been educating radio journalists for a long time to strengthen Nepal’s independent radio throughout the country.

Lama is currently working as a resource person in communication skills training at the local level to empower elected members and different communities.
